Magento coupons - difference Uses per coupon and Uses per customer

I have been configuring catalog rules /offers for my client and came across this confusing settings. After digging for couple of hours on net, I got clear explanation for same. Uses per coupon - the total amount of times I will allow that discount - I believe that leaving it blank means unlimited. Or you might put in say 1000. Uses per customer - the total amount of times 1 specific customer can avail of the discount
